Plush Furniture

Each began with a thrifted piece of furniture. I hand-dyed all the yarns and hand-wove all of the patterned fabric, the rest is thrifted textiles. Each piece has it’s own woven pattern, done on a floor loom. Using the thrifted furniture as a base, I was able to create sewing patterns to form the exaggerated whimsical shapes of the final piece. I wove continuous pieces of fabric for each project, which I then cut into the patterns and hand/machine sewed everything together. I stuffed the fabric to create a plush, yet fully functional, piece of furniture.
